The First Time We Met
Jeremiah and Cara’s love story began on the 21st of September, 2019, at a karaoke bar called Attitudes, where a bunch of friends were getting together for a birthday celebration. A mutual friend had mentioned the event to Jeremiah and hinted that there would be someone there he might like to meet. Cara was surprised and delighted to meet the handsome stranger. They talked and laughed as they flipped through books of karaoke songs. Charmed and equally impressed by each other’s karaoke skills, they knew they would see each other again.
They went on many dates, one of which was on October 5, 2019, to a drive-in movie double feature of “The Joker” and “IT.” It was then that Jeremiah asked Cara to be his girlfriend. She said yes.
Marriage Proposal
When did they realize they were in love? It’s hard to say. Both knew this was something special from the beginning. But it became undeniably clear in 2020, early in the pandemic, when they decided they would be social distancing together. They went through the growing pains of moving in together during a time of fear when getting out of the house wasn’t always an option. Through it all, they made each other laugh and found joy in the little things. Jeremiah watched Cara’s true crime shows, and she watched every Marvel movie. Their love continued to grow.
On August 26, 2022, Jeremiah proposed to Cara in Colorado Springs at the Garden of the Gods. On a mountain, surrounded by breathtaking views, he asked her to be his forever. She said yes. The rest is history.
